Technology and school safety are not optional—they’re essential.

Federal grants once covered student devices and safety support, but those funds are gone while the needs remain. Today, repairs, replacements, software, and school constables must be funded locally—nearly $500,000 every year. These are recurring costs that cannot be cut without impacting learning and safety.

That’s why operations, technology, and safety are a core pillar of the referendum.

🗳️ Vote February 9th — for the first time in 40 years.

Last night, we had tImage attachmentImage attachment+Image attachment

Last night, we had the opportunity to recognize and thank our Laurel School District Board of Education for their continued leadership, dedication, and service to our students, staff, and community. Their commitment to thoughtful decision-making and putting students first helps guide our district forward each day. Board Appreciation Night was a meaningful way to say thank you for the countless hours and hard work they give behind the scenes. ❤️🤍

We were also excited to celebrate Donna Ward on being named the 2026 Delaware State Educational Support Professional of the Year! This well-deserved honor reflects her unwavering dedication, professionalism, and the positive impact she makes on our schools and students. Laurel is fortunate to have Donna representing our district across the state. 🐾🏆

Finally, we had the privilege to learn more about our Paw & Order Mock Trial Club, where students are gaining critical skills such as analyzing legal materials and preparing arguments, while learning about the legal system and accessing rigorous academics. Their hard work and preparation are truly impressive, and we wish them the best as they compete on March 6 & 7. 🏛️⚖️

Go Bulldogs!
